Doodle Greetings Recycled Holiday Cards
‘Tis the season to be green! For many people, it is a holiday tradition to send out annual Christmas cards to their family, friends, and colleagues. These cards are made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper that is made chlorine-free through renewable energy (primarily wind power). The box in which the cards are packaged in are also made of 100% recycled cardboard and paper. They are reusable and recyclable. There are tons of fun designs to choose from.

EconoGreen Plastic Bags & Drop Cloths
One of our readers introduced us to EconoGreen, a brand of eco-friendly and economical plastic bags and drop cloths. According to the manufacturer’s website, the bags are made from 100% recycled plastics and are 100% recyclable and oxodegradable. What does this mean? It means that the bags and drop cloths will degrade over time to they will be completely broken down within 2 years after use. Pretty cool, especially considering the bags cost about the same as what you’re probably spending now. A 30 count of their 13 gallon tall kitchen bags was only $3.99 on Amazon. We haven’t tried out the bags yet but we soon will. If you have already tried them, let us know what you think!

The Mission of Patagonia’s Common Threads Recycling Program
Often big box companies are very wasteful when it comes to the manufacturing of their products. As consumers become more informed, they are starting to demand more eco-friendly products and production methods.
This week we spotlight Patagonia
and one of their efforts that keeps the environment in focus while developing high performance clothing and gear. Established in 2005, the Common Threads Recycling Program was started by Patagonia to take unusable, used garments to create new ones. What better way to not deplete the earth than make the goods we consume more sustainable.
Some examples of recyclable garments include Patagonia fleece, Polartec fleece clothing from any manufacturer, Patagonia Cotton T-shirts, and other garments with the Common Threads tag.
It’s extremely easy to give back. Recycling can be done through the mail, at a local Patagonia Retail Store, or at a Patagonia Performance Baselayer dealer.
